ABOUT THE CLIENT

Spedimo is a company with nearly 25 years of experience in the forwarding and transport industry. It serves a broad portfolio of clients in the less-than-truckload (LTL) transport segment, recognizing a clear market gap and the need to create tools tailored to the specific, extremely fast-paced work rhythm of smaller forwarders.
ABOUT THE PROJECT
Spedimo approached us with a project to create a new transport exchange that would break the monopoly of existing platforms and better respond to the needs of the less-than-truckload transport segment
The dominant solutions proved to be too complex and poorly suited to the realities of smaller forwarders’ work, which created space for a more specialized approach. The key assumption was to design the system from scratch – fast, intuitive, and focused on the specific processes of this niche.
As part of the project, we delivered a platform that accelerates transaction closures, simplifies the management of multiple offers, and ensures high performance under high operational volatility. The resulting solution is a scalable tool, precisely tailored to a clearly defined market need.
INITIAL REQUIREMENTS / CONSULTING
Market gap analysis
The client approached us with the need to build a lightweight platform that would break the monopoly of existing players. They expected us to conduct an in-depth market analysis, refine the target group, and define a cohesive set of features that would genuinely shorten the transaction process.
Product Development process
Instead of jumping straight into coding, we conducted a full Product Development process. We organized in-depth interviews and workshops with users to uncover the actual operational pain points hidden beneath layers of forwarders’ long-standing habits.
CHALLENGE / ANALYSIS
Understanding the routine of smaller forwarders
The existing exchanges on the market were designed with large logistics operators in mind. The main challenge was to reject these established patterns and understand the pace of work of LTL forwarders, who often did not realize how much old tools limited the quality of their communication.
Architecture for extreme volatility
Designing an environment that could withstand dynamic operational changes in the transport industry. The system had to handle huge datasets and hundreds of active records per user without the slightest delay in the browser.
Balancing speed and security (KYC)
Creating a mechanism for validating platform participants (licenses, certificates). The solution had to guarantee 100% transaction security without simultaneously creating a “bottleneck” that would slow down onboarding and daily freight handling.
PROJECT GOALS
The key aspiration was to break the status quo of market giants by delivering an agile tool aimed at the specific needs of small and medium-sized entities. We established a set of technical and market goals that were to guarantee unrivaled transaction speed and ergonomics in daily work.
Shortening transaction times
Building a platform with a highly simplified process and a minimal amount of required data entry, allowing forwarders to react instantly and close offers.
Breaking the market monopoly
Providing a dedicated, highly intuitive alternative that would redefine the work ergonomics of smaller entities in direct contrast to the sluggish market platforms of competitors.
Instant access to freight
Implementing powerful, efficient filtering and search modules. The user was to gain immediate access to key information even under extremely intensive operational work conditions.
Centralization of documentation and communication
Implementing a single, shared environment for exchanging information and documents, relieving forwarders, logisticians, and drivers from the need to use external messaging apps.
Technological synchronization and stability
Ensuring full work consistency between the web version and mobile version (based on a common core) and deployment
Flexible foundation for scaling
Building an IT structure (modular monolith) that enables the dynamic development of the system and the painless addition of further functional modules as Spedimo’s business grows.
Solution description
The team recreated the actual work rhythm of forwarders and designed a highly responsive environment grouping freight addition, fleet management, and negotiations. The entirety was based on a modern modular monolith (using technologies such as Vue, .NET, SignalR, and Flutter), which allowed for exceptional operational speed and the instant processing of extensive exchange datasets on users’ screens.

PROJECT DETAILS / IMPLEMENTATION
An architecture based on the agile concept of a modular monolith (utilizing optimized Vue, .NET, and Flutter technologies) guarantees stability even during massive pile-ups of thousands of active loads.
Data flows through powerful search engines enabling the instant segmentation of exchanges (including private exchanges), which, supported by Real-Time communication (SignalR), ties the entire online collaboration together.
Rigorous, hybrid document validation protects the tool from fraudsters without hindering transaction flexibility.
As a result, we obtained a fully scalable software that far exceeded initial assumptions in load testing, freeing users from the annoying delays known from market competitors.
High-performance intelligent filter engine
A real-time algorithm analyzing large datasets, taking into account key parameters for LTL (distance, route direction, freight availability window).
Support for private exchanges
Implementation of functionality supporting the building of business relationships. Users can form closed, private load exchange loops with companies of their choice.
Hybrid document validation
A system linking the automatic analysis of attached company documents with a manual verification path by the operational team, ensuring solid data quality and trust on the platform.
Real-Time Communication (SignalR)
Implementation of instant live communication. Users negotiate, chat, and send essential photos and attachments to each other entirely within the exchange.
Consistent technology stack (Vue, .NET, Flutter)
Utilizing modern frameworks to prepare a fast, scalable, and highly maintainable tool accessible both via a web browser and a mobile app.
Results and business
impact
As a result, Spedimo successfully entered the market with a tool that precisely addresses the pain points of the LTL segment and breaks the dominance of older systems. The platform achieved full operational readiness, significantly streamlining daily work, which directly translated into higher commercial effectiveness for its users.
Instant view loading: The loading time of key exchange views was reduced, enabling users to work comfortably on hundreds of offers and orders practically in real-time.
Increase in commercial effectiveness: A lightweight, reliable, and well-planned interface allowed forwarders to efficiently manage a massive pool of loads simultaneously without feeling technologically overwhelmed.
Increased market security: The verification and validation process for transport companies reduced the risk of contracting with unverified parties and protects the platform’s integrity.
Development of closed communities:The private exchange feature allowed engaged companies to create their own airtight and secure ecosystems of trusted subcontractors.
Faster contract closing: Chat and built-in online negotiations completely eliminated communication chaos, radically accelerating the confirmation of final rates and arrangements.
Proven scalability: Rigorous load tests finally proved that the system has a huge reserve of operational power to easily process datasets far exceeding the client’s original requirements.
Client testimonial
“From the very beginning, we wanted to create a platform that would genuinely respond to the needs of forwarders working in the LTL segment and allow us to break the monopoly of existing exchanges. The solution we received met our expectations because the system operates quickly, is intuitive, and supports users in their daily operational decisions. The collaboration was transparent and predictable, and the team was able to translate our business needs into specific functionalities.”
